Dubai During Covid19 Pandemic

Being away from your family during a pandemic is one of the hardest situation to be in.  Not knowing if your family is safe and coping with the quarantine imposed by various governments around the world to avoid the spread of Covid19.  Unfortunately, Dubai, being one of the most active tourist spots in the Middle East, was not spared from this crisis.

The Government of Dubai has been very supportive to both locals and expats staying in Dubai by providing proper information about the disease and providing supplies to quarantined expats and locals.  Even providing two-weeks 5-star hotel accommodations for some returning residents!

During the start of the pandemic in March, UAE banned its citizens from traveling, barred entry to residency visa holders and suspended work permit issuance.

Domestic and international flights were stopped to prevent the spread of the disease.  People have been required to wear face masks when going outside their flats or houses.  Returning travelers are required to stay at home under self-quarantine for 14-days.

As of this writing, there has been 7.04 millions confirmed cases worldwide with 404 thousands deaths.  UAE has 39,904 cases with 22,740 have recoveries and 283 fatalities.

Until now, no vaccine has been found for Covid19.
