Last April, visas that expired last March was extended till December 2020 but it was announced this weekend that the UAE Cabinet has cancelled the visa extension and amended the grace period for all residents with expired visas.
Schedule for renewal will depend on the visa expiration.
- Residency visas and Emirates IDs with March 2020 expiry – Renewal: 12 July
- Residency visas and Emirates IDs with April 2020 expiry – Renewal: 12 July
- Residency visas and Emirates IDs with May 2020 expiry – Renewal: 11 August
- Residency visas and Emirates IDs with June 2020 expiry – Renewal: 10 September
- Residency visas and Emirates IDs with expiry on 1 July until 11 July 2020 – 10 September
- Residency visas and Emirates IDs with expiry after 11 July 2020 – Not restricted to a certain date
With the amended grace period for visa renewal, administrative fees and fines will be issued to those who will miss the deadlines.
